The Center for Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Vero Beach provides a comprehensive range of outpatient behavioral health services through clinical innovation, research, and education.
Together with our community partners, we are committed to providing care the highest quality care available in Indian River County and the Treasure Coast.
The following services will be added or expanded as we continue to grow and add additional mental health professionals.
Adult Psychiatry
Full time physicians with Board Certification in Psychiatry providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a wide range of psychiatric illnesses including mood (e.g., depression, bipolar), psychotic (e.g., schizophrenia), anxiety (e.g., Generalized Anxiety Disorder, panic, OCD, Social Phobia, PTSD), and neuropsychiatric disorders (e.g., dementia, autism spectrum, impulse control).
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Full time physicians with Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry provding comprehensive outpatient clinical care to children, adolescents and school aged young adults, including their families, with psychotherapy, psychotropic medication and behavioral education.
Faculty are also available for second opinion or one-time consultation to families and clinicians.
Psychotherapy “Counseling”
Counseling services are available to people of all ages. Counseling can help people understand the behaviors, emotions, and ideas that contribute to his or her illness or problem; understand and identify the life problems or events -- like a major illness, a death in the family, a loss of a job or a divorce -- that contribute to their illness and help them understand which aspects of those problems they may be able to solve or improve; regain a sense of control and pleasure in life; and learn coping techniques and problem-solving skills.
Addiction Medicine
Full time physicians with Board Certification in Addiction Medicine providing comprehensive addiction medicine outpatient services including, substance abuse evaluation, psychotherapy, and medical management of Suboxone maintenance therapy.
Addiction is a chronic illness with both biological, psychological and spiritual aspects. Our Addiction Medicine services provide adult substance abusers with treatment, education and support services to stop using alcohol and drugs and to maintain long-term recovery.
Forensic Psychiatry
Full time physicians with Board Certification in Psychiatry & Forensic Psychiatry providing a full range of consultative services to private attorneys, the courts, various administrative law bodies and governmental agencies, where evaluation and mental health information are relevant.
Orginally established in 1988, as the Division of Forensic Psychiatry, the Forensic Institute at the is the oldest, most experienced provider of forensic psychiatric services in the state.
Services will include:
Criminal evaluations for competency to stand trial
Opinions regarding sanity at the time of an alleged offense
Various expert civil evaluations in personal injury cases, child custody cases, testamentary capacity cases and medical malpractice.
